On November 20th an unfortunate anniversary was marked. Last Thursday was the 50th anniversary of Quinacrine, an anti-malarial drug, being approved to treat Lupus. That was the last drug the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved specifically to treat Lupus. Cure4Lupus.org and The Lupus Foundation of America want to know what Zero in 50 means to you. We will be taking your stories to congress in our advocacy efforts for more federal funding for Lupus research. Visit our Zero in 50 page and fill out the form to submit your story. |
With all of the holidays coming up we wanted to share with you some things that might make your holidays easier & might help you raise Lupus Awareness at the same time.
We have included some helpful hints on a wide range obstacles facing Lupus patients from Cure4Lupus.org employees and supporters to make Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, & New Year's Eve easier, more fun and less taxing on the Lupus fighter.
We have also outlined some ways that you can remember Lupus, raise awareness, and raise research dollars while celebrating the holidays. |
We have reduced the price to $4.99 on the 2008 Cure4Lupus Holiday Ornaments so that they are affordable to everyone in these tough economic times. We have also added 2 purple ribbons to the 2008 Cure4Lupus ornament.
The
Lupus Awareness
Ornament, has also been reduced to $3.99. These ornaments are
a great way to raise Lupus awareness. They make great gifts as
well! |
As time winds down on this Congress, time to get the Lupus REACH Amendments of 2007 passed into law is drawing to an end. There is however still time. In addition to passing the amendments on their own, Congress can also package the bill with another health bill. But, we need more co-sponsors and we need to let our congress people know how important it is to pass this legislation before this Congress adjourns and we have to start over with new legislation. PLEASE urge all of your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to write and/or call their congress people. Sample letters and contact info can be found here. |
