Hello everyone,

My name is Jennifer Pelkofer I am 30 years old and was just diagnosed with Lupus. I have both systemic and also the dermatology part. I have been having a rough time with this disease. Because it has made a lot of changes in my life. It was diagnosed when I gave birth to my daughter on December 24, 2006. I was then diagnosed January of 2007. I have a lupus specialist that is working with me and I am also signed up with a research team so that they can follow me and my disease for the next 30 years. They say that the disease usually does not run in the family but my uncle and aunt are twins. My uncle has the dermatology part and my aunt has the systemic. I just happen to get both. I have a lot of issues that come with my diagnoses. I have problems with stress, depression,migraines, flair ups, fatigue, fibermyalsia, hives. So far I have been lucky that it has not hit any of my major organs such as the heart, liver, lung, etc. My aunt unfortunately the disease is affecting her heart.
